The cold and rainy days of fall are upon us and with the change of weather sometimes it doesn’t matter how many layers you’re wearing or how warm your house is — those chills don’t let up.  If you are fed up with constant chills consider radiant heat.

Radiant heating is the effect you feel when you can feel the warmth of a hot stovetop element from 30 centimeters away. Radiant heating has a number of advantages. It is more effective than baseboard heaters as it heats the objects in its path rather than heating air and more efficient as well as more effective than forced-air heating because it eliminates things like duct losses and blower noise. People with allergies often prefer radiant heat because it doesn’t distribute allergens like forced air systems can.

  1. Comfort: Nothing comes even close to the comfort of a radiant heat system. The technology works the same as how the sun heats your body, it’s a natural feel.
  2. Clean: Radiant heating systems are just about hypoallergenic. Since the air is not blowing around your home, you don’t have to be concerned about the heating system distributing pollen, dust and other allergens in the home.
  3. Energy Efficient: It can be more energy efficient than a furnace with long leaky ducting that may waste as much as 30% of the energy you paid for.
  4. Whisper Quiet: It’s quieter, again no blowers required – the home is peaceful.
  5. Relaxing: Most people can imagine a cup of tea or a glass of wine sitting in front of a cozy fireplace – the image is classic for conjuring up special times together.  Silly as it sounds, you wouldn’t do that in front of a baseboard heater or down in your basement around a furnace.
