One of the issues often faced by condominium owners is: What to do with the old fireplace?

Some Background: Gas fireplaces first started to become commonplace locally in the late 1980s.  Back then gas fireplaces were strictly decorative appliances that produced little or no heat.  Since those early days, some of the newer will produce some heat.

Many developers have seen the benefit of installing a gas fireplace in each and every condo they build in terms of value adding feature, but after that don’t associate further benefit in installing anything better than the lowest cost option available to them.   As the fireplaces age, their service life will typically be shorter than a premium model and have limited, if any, control and trim options.

Many condo owners are dis-satisfied with the look, performance, heating qualities, controllability or, even safety.

Replacing a gas fireplace is often a great way to add value and usefulness to your condo.  We can replace your fireplace only or we can work with other artisans to replace the mantle and facing, or even as part of a larger update.  In the end you will have a lower cost heating source as well as a dramatically better fireplace than the original.  This will also help your condo stand out compared to others down the road when you decide to sell.

Eric says, “Many owners are surprised how easy it can be, Ark can look after as few or many details as the customer wants (see some of our work here).  Many owners like to take on the tile work themselves, while others choose a turn-key approach.”
